The Proposition Song

In 2000, confronted with a Primary ballot containing a whopping twenty statewide propositions, CVF President & Founder Kim Alexander wrote the first "Proposition Song", a three-minute sing-along folk song explaining each proposition in an accurate, unbiased and entertaining manner.

Sacramento-based Capital Public Radio recorded the song and CVF worked with graphic artists to create a video to play along with the song, featuring the words on the screen so viewers could sing along.

The Proposition Song has become a popular musical collaboration, with numerous performers and bands joining in through the years to produce and record the song and create the accompanying music video.

For each Proposition Song CVF has released there is an accompanying news release, YouTube video, song sheet, credits and photos.
