Campaign DisclosureThe California Voter Foundation has worked to bring "digital sunlight" to money in politics ever since it created the world's first real-time, online campaign finance database in 1995. CVF has worked to imrpove California laws to ensure voters can "follow the money". Voter EngagementSince the 1994 publication of our first California Online Voter Guide, CVF has created many innovative online voter education resources for citizens in California and across the country. CVF also works to imrpove California's vote-by-mail process and modernize voter registration. |

Voting TechnologySince 1999, CVF has been involved with voting technology, with representatives serving on numerous boards and task forces. CVF led the California effort to require a voter verified paper audit trail to ensure meaningful post-election audits. Voter PrivacyTo better understand the risks of technology as they relate to voter privacy, CVF has studiied voter registration data gathering and dissemination practices in the U.S. and published the landmark report, "Voter Privacy in the Digital Age". |
