The figures below represent the total amount of money raised and spent between January 1, 2003 and October 16, 2004 to support and oppose the sixteen measures on the November 2, 2004 ballot. The figures do not include last-minute contributions made since October 16th, when the last regularly filed pre-election reports were due. Transfers between committees are excluded from the total amounts raised by each side. No money had been raised to support or oppose Propositions 59, 60A or 65 as of 10/16/04.

Itemized contributions and expenditures are available through the Secretary of State's Cal-Access web site.

* Three ballot measure campaign committees are supporting or opposing more than one proposition, so the total amounts raised by those committees are included in more than one line in the above table. These dual-campaign committees affect the individual totals for Propositions 60, 62, 68 and 70. In making our calculations for the Grand Total figure, we adjusted downward by $8.9 million so that money from those dual-campaign committees was not double-counted.

Most Expensive Measures on the November 2004 Ballot:

#1 - Prop 68
#2 - Prop 70
#3 - Prop 71
#4 - Prop 72
#5 - Prop 64
