Political Parties
There are seven qualified political parties in California. When registering to vote, you can choose one of these parties, or you can decline to affiliate with any party. Read CVF's Voting FAQ page for information about how party affiliation will affect your ballot choices in a primary election. For the most up-to-date party registration numbers, read the latest Report of Registration from the Secretary of State.
