New California Online Voter Guide Debuts

The tenth edition of the voter guide is part of CVF's new web site, which has been redesigned to commemorate the organization's ten-year anniversary. "What began as a voter education experiment in 1994 has grown into a resource that voters and journalists rely on every election," said Kim Alexander, CVF president and founder.

The California Voter Foundation has received several awards for its web site in the past, including the prestigious Webby Award. The new web site features a decade's worth of election information and projects produced by CVF.

CVF's California Online Voter Guide includes nonpartisan information about all national, statewide, congressional and state legislative candidates, and a page for each of the four statewide propositions. The guide, which is free to the public, also includes a "Voting Q&A", political district maps and a directory of California voting systems.

CVF recommends the following additional Internet resources for California voters:

Support for the California Online Voter Guide is provided by The James Irvine Foundation. The California Voter Foundation is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization advancing the responsible use of technology to improve democracy. CVF does not take positions on ballot measures or candidates. More information about the California Voter Foundation is online at http://www.calvoter.org.
