* Online disclosure of late contributions begins TODAY
Beginning today, every contribution of $1,000 made to a California proposition or legislative candidate must be disclosed online within 24 hours. Traditionally, up to 25 percent of all the money raised in a California election comes in the final two weeks of the campaign season. If you want to keep up on the latest numbers, visit the Secretary of State's Cal-Access web site at http://cal-access.ss.ca.gov/lcrs/default.asp
The California Voter Foundation's Top Ten Donors lists show the biggest donors for and against every measure through September 30, and will be updated again next week once the latest reports are disclosed. Visit CVF's Top Ten list at: http://www.calvoter.org/2000/general/propositions/topten.html

* Feinstein & Campbell to meet for two U.S. Senate debates
This week, California's two major party candidates for the U.S. Senate will meet twice to debate. Incumbent Democrat Dianne Feinstein will debate Republican challenger Tom Campbell in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Here are the details:
What: Feinstein/Campbell Debate I
Where: Los Angeles
When: Tuesday, October 24, 11 a.m.
Where to tune in: The California Channel, Adelphia Communications with Bill Rosendahl, and Univision.
What: Feinstein/Campbell Debate II
Where: San Francisco
When: Friday, October 27, 6 p.m.
Where to tune in: KRON TV, BAY TV, KQED FM.

* Watch Cal Channel for more election news
Speaking of the California Channel....I highly recommend this excellent cable station if you want to see some really substantive coverage of this year's election. Cal Channel carries public affairs programming, such as Bill Rosendahl's show on Adelphia Communications and California Capitol Week from KVIE in Sacramento. Cal Channel has also been repeatedly airing the legislative hearings that took place on each of the ballot initiatives in recent months, and again produced its award-winning "Cable Free Airtime Project" for this election season, providing a brief interview with each of the U.S. Senate candidates.
