TO: CVF-NEWS FROM: Saskia Mills DATE: September 24, 2003 RE: Tonight's candidate debate at CSUS
Hi folks,
The top five replacement candidates for governor in the Recall election will meet at 6pm tonight on the campus of California State University, Sacramento, for a 90-minute debate sponsored by the California Broadcasters Association (CBA). This is the only forum currently scheduled to take place prior to the October 7th election that includes all of the leading gubernatorial candidates.
The candidates—Cruz Bustamante, Peter Camejo, Arianna Huffington, Tom McClintock, and Arnold Schwarzenegger—will debate twelve pre-determined questions, including “What do you expect to accomplish in the time remaining on Gray Davis' term that he could not?” and “What should be the top priority for California right now?” A list of all twelve questions to be asked during tonight's forum is on the CBA web site at:

At least one hundred radio and television stations throughout the state will carry the debate live, along with national news outlets CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC. Many of those stations, including C-SPAN (http://www.cspan.org) and KQED-FM (http://www.kqed.org), will have a live stream of the debate on their web sites, and some will broadcast it again later this evening or this weekend (check your local listings.)
