Hi Folks,
I'll be in Washington, D.C. next Monday, May 22, to speak at a forum sponsored by the Democracy Online Project. This project, as some of you may know, is sponsored by George Washington University and funded by a grant from the Pew Charitable Trusts. It includes a task force which is studying the role of democracy in the so-called "dot com world".
I hope those of you who are in the DC area will try attend the session, as it is free, open to the public, and will include testimony from a wide range of interesting experts. (Please see the details below for RSVP instructions.) I'll be sure to email my remarks out to CVF-NEWS next week. There's a chance the session will air on C-SPAN, and the project is planning to make a web video archive available online after the event.

You are invited to the second of two Public Testimony Sessions of the National Task Force of the Democracy Online Project: In Search of Democracy's Domain in a Dot-Com World. The National Task Force is Co-Chaired by former U.S. Representatives Patricia Schroeder (D-Colorado) and Richard White (R-Washington).
Experts from think tanks, policy institutes, politics, journalism and the high-tech industry will provide testimony to the National Task Force as it seeks to arrive at a set of ideas that will help promote a vibrant online public space for political communication in the United States.
In each panel, the speakers will give a brief statement. They will then field questions from members of the Task Force and the audience. A list of the confirmed and invited speakers can be found below in the agenda.
