RE:   Reminder: Election reform hearing webcast 4/12

Hi Folks,

Tomorrow, April 12, I'll be testifying before the National Commission on Federal Election Reform at the Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, CA.

The Commission's hearing is from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. PST and will be webcast live on http://www.reformelections.org, so remember to tune in tomorrow if you want to watch the testimony. My panel begins at 1:30 p.m.; CVF board member David Jefferson is also testifying on Internet voting, and his panel begins at 2:30 p.m.

Here's a summary of the schedule and speakers:

10:20 am -- Perspectives of Administrators in the Field -- with LA County Voting Registrar Connie McCormack and Riverside County Registrar Mischelle Townsend

11:00 am -- Election Oversight -- with FEC Chairman Danny McDonald; and Secretaries of State Bill Bradbury (OR), and Bill Jones (CA).

1:30 pm -- Citizen Participation -- with Congresswoman Maxine Waters, California Assemblyman Rod Pacheco, Kim Alexander from the California Voter Foundation, Rosalind Gold from the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials.

2:30 pm -- New Technologies -- with Dr. Michael Alvarez, from the CalTech/MIT Voting Project; Dr. David Jefferson, California Internet Voting Task Force; and Prof. Susan Roth, The Ohio State University.

The hearing is open to the public and the media. For more details, visit the commission's web site at http://www.reformelections.org. FYI, my testimony will be available on our web site before the end of the week, and we will also send it out to CVF-NEWS.

Have a great week!
