RE: Davis to deliver State of the State Jan. 6th

Hi Folks,

On Wednesday, January 6th, Governor Gray Davis will deliver his first "State of the State". The event will be held at 5:00 p.m. on the floor of the State Assembly, where Davis is expected to outline his agenda and priorities for his term as California's governor. Davis will deliver his State of the State before the 120 members of the Legislature, as well as state dignitaries and special guests.

Those wanting to watch or listen to Davis' first major address as California's new governor have a few options:

RADIO:

The good people at KQED-FM will be broadcasting the address live in a special edition of the "California Report", which will also include post-state of the state analyses and discussion. Most public radio stations in California are expected to carry the California Report's broadcast.

TELEVISION:

In addition, the ever-reliable California Channel will be broadcasting Davis' address to its cable stations; however, many cable stations end their Cal Channel broadcast at 3 p.m., before the State of the State is to begin -- check with your local cable operator to find out if they plan to extend their Cal Channel coverage. The State Assembly is making the event available to all TV stations in the state, but whether they will carry the address remains to be seen -- check your local listings to see if you can view it locally. We have been able to determine that Bay TV in the San Francisco Bay Area will carry Davis' address live, as will KXTV in Sacramento.

INTERNET:

The only site we've found that will offer live webcasting is the California Channel, at http://www.calchannel.com.
