Hi folks,
There is a new, excellent source for congressional campaign finance data available on the Internet. The Center for Responsive Politics has created new campaign finance profiles for every candidate running for congress this year. I tried out this new feature on their web site and was really impressed by how easy it is to use. You can find out all kinds of information about the money raised by this year's congressional candidates -- CRP's new Candidate Profiles offers up detailed data using easy-to-read bar graphs and pie charts. CRP will be updating these profiles on a monthly basis. It is the latest, greatest and hottest new source of congressional campaign finance data, and I encourage you to check their site and and discover all the new info that's now available, thanks to the good folks at the Center for Responsive Politics.

CENTER FOR RESPONSIVE POLITICS UNVEILS DETAILED
CAMPAIGN FINANCE PROFILES FOR EVERY
CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE IN THE NATION
WASHINGTON, D.C., June 5, 1998 - The non-partisan Center for Responsive Politics is unveiling detailed campaign finance profiles on Monday for every House and Senate candidate nationwide - challengers as well as incumbents - during a working news conference, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the National Press Club library's computer classroom.
The unique Internet tool profiles the sources of each candidate's contributions by industry, metro area, and zip code; provides a comparison of in-state vs. out-of-state fund-raising; and shows how well each candidate is complying with legal requirements to identify the employers and occupations of all contributors. Users can search several layers of detail for each candidate. The profiles are illustrated with charts, graphs, and maps.
The feature provides the most complete and current snapshots of candidates' fund-raising ever available on the World Wide Web before an election. And it will be updated regularly, so journalists and the general public can use the tool throughout the campaign.
The free feature goes live on the Center's Web site at www.crp.org at 9 a.m. on June 8.
