Beginning the sixth year of a blockade, the Armenian people are slowly
starving and freezing to death. While they die, it's business as usual
for AMOCO and UNOCAL.

A consortium led by AMOCO and UNOCAL has signed an agreement with the
government of Azerbaijan to develop the Caspian Sea oil fields, which
will provide millions of dollars to the Azeri military dictatorship.
Those dollars allow Azerbaijan to maintain its blockade of Armenia.

At the same time, UNOCAL is using slave labor to build a pipeline in
Burma and destroying its rainforest. Here at home, UNOCAL was convicted
of criminal charges of covering up the largest toxic dump in California
history.

The California Teachers Pension Fund is the tenth largest investor in
UNOCAL and the University of California owns 500,000 shares in AMOCO. As
a candidate for State Treasurer, Jan Tucker demands that all state
agencies and pension funds divest themselves from investments in
companies that engage in socially irresponsible activities, like
promoting war, increasing poverty, and destroying the environment.
