ENCOURAGING JOB CREATION
Tony Miller has proposed the elimination of the job-killing, $800 dollar
small business start-up tax. Tony is committed to efforts like this to
help create new jobs...by streamlining government and slashing red tape.
Tony helped write the law that created the California State World Trade
Commission. Working with the Commission to promote California's
agricultural and manufacturing exports is among Tony's top priorities.
HONEST ELECTIONS
As Secretary of State, Tony Miller will ensure that the tradition of
fairly and efficiently conducted elections continues. As Acting Secretary
of State, Miller has created a voter fraud investigation unit to
crack-down on illegal voting activity. Tony Miller has proposed
legislation to make the Secretary of State non-partisan as a matter of
law and not just recent tradition.
MEANINGFUL CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM
Tony Miller is sponsoring a proposal to take lobbyists out of the
business of making and arranging campaign contributions.
TRUTH-IN-ADVERTISING INITIATIVE REFORM
As a member of the Citizens' Commission on Ballot Initiatives in 1993,
Tony helped formulate recommendations to help improve the initiative
process. Tony supports the passage of a truth in advertising law to
force up-front disclosure of the organizations that actually pay for TV
and radio ads for or against ballot initiatives.
"NONE OF THE ABOVE" BALLOT OPTION
Tony Miller proposes placing "None of the Above" on the ballot as an
option for voters who are tired of negative campaigning.
